As a designer for over 20 years and retailer for over 15 years, my story begins when I left the Central Coast as a young pup to LA for design school.
I had the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight working with some of the most respected and recognized architects and interior designers our industry hails during an exciting time in design and development in Los Angeles.
While in Los Angeles I had the privilege of working with a team of talented partners that believed in giving back to our community. It was then that I learned how carving out even a small amount of time and space in our daily grind can have a much larger impact than we often appreciate. To this day, I’m committed to leading by example and supporting our growing Central Coast community.
After many years in LA, the Coast was calling me back home. So, while taking time off before accepting my dream job at a world-renowned firm, I came to the Coast to spend time with family. A month later, I declined the position and decided to take root along the Central Coast once again. Six months later I met my husband, and we now have two beautiful kids and a lovable labradoodle.
Our intimate community gave me the desire to feel more connected to clients and the design process. I dreamed to open a home furnishing storefront while offering boutique design services from the experience I gained in Los Angeles. The opportunity to partner with a dear friend arose and we joined her retail forces with my design expertise and enjoyed developing an amazing portfolio of work with two beautiful storefronts. Now venturing on my own with Basalt, I remain in the same location in downtown San Luis Obispo and continue to offer an inspired, boutique studio experience for my clients. It’s with so much love and gratitude that I proceed with doing what I’m passionate about: loving what I do and the beautiful community I have the privilege of being a part of.
